The Economist Renewal Offers
[22:50:14] matt [wronka.org]/Psi.generay I received two different eMail offers from the Economist for an early Renewal offer (I have at least one more year on my subscription). One for 80% off, $69 a year; the second for 85% off, or $51 a year.
Ordering magazines is oddly reminiscent of buying trinkets on holiday.

Why doesn't the Economist iPad application synchronize the article for which it's playing audio with the article it is displaying? How is this any better than playing the MP3 files on car stereo?

If the iPad is supposed to be a computer replacement, "the first computer affordable to the middle class in China" as quoted in the Economist, why does it list as its requirements a Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later, or Windows NT 5.1 or later machine? In other words, what does the Jesus Pad need with a starship?
