After entering a prospective password I hit "next" several times expecting to be able to confirm it; clicking the "hide keyboard" button however showed a message that indicated the problem.

[19:44:28] Trip I wish I knew why the Android UI designers didn't see the benefit in providing an indication to the user when there is an input-validation error, something like Maemo's alert message which appears at the top of the screen for a brief time before fading in this situation.
