[17:10:02] matt [wronka.org]/Trip Somewhat interestingly, when I was testing Mythbuntuj as a backend, it seemed to work fine. Then iowait went through the roof once I added the production RAID set-up. Oddly, the iowait turned out to be unrelated (at least the worst of it); this was apparently a known issue with Mythbuntu 12.04, and it's unclear why I hadn't seen it originally.
[17:12:04] matt [wronka.org]/Trip Apparently, the Mythbuntu forums have several entries directing you to set the default storage for Mysql to MyISAM (default_storage_engine=MyISAM in /etc/mysql/conf.d/mythtv.cnf).
[17:12:32] matt [wronka.org]/Trip The Mythbuntu forums also suggest mounting /tmp/ as tmpfs; that's usually a good idea anyway.
